We have been asked by St James’s University Hospital’s Radiotherapy Department in Leeds to help them to survey patients about the use of a bell to mark the end of any radiotherapy treatment.
The bell ringing tradition started in the US but has become more popular in recent years in the UK.
The team at St James’s plan to use artwork to make the wall behind the end of treatment bell, brighter and more interesting and want to incorporate patient thoughts and feelings into the design.
Yorkshire Cancer Community are also interested to find out more, particularly as we are aware there are mixed feelings about the use of a bell to mark the end of treatment. We would like to offer this survey to any cancer patients who received radiotherapy treatment.
Thanks for your participation.
